Hello readers!
I hope your summer has been amazing, and I hope that my videos have been showing up in the previous blog posts – I really don’t know what is happening with that – something about monkeys…
So, you might think that I’ve fallen off the face of the Earth – but I’m not that easily disposed of! No, starting September 1st I went back to school. Yes, I graduated in January and swore to never return to that hell hole that had ruined everything and still I did.
Basically i decided to stop fighting the system and just get those extra points in English so that I can teach English at school. So I am currently taking a Children’s Literature class parrallel to taking a Creative Writing class and it is killing me. In my naive mindset I thought that it would be easy because one course was full time and the other one was half time, so the slower one wouldn’t kick off until the faster one was over. However, I was wrong.
I have considered quitting one of them but I cannot decide on one. I love both of the courses and I get to read as much as my heart desires.
So, in the Children’s Literature class we were assigned a few books that we should read for certain lectures so we can discuss these. So I am reading from my mum’s Samsung Tab because they were easier to download and get hold of than physical books. I’m missing a few, but I have the most important ones and  I might have to buy physical copies if I cannot find them anywhere else.
This means that in the past two weeks I have read 3 books. 2 were for class and 1 was a guilty read that pretty much had me on the edge of my seat. I have started a third one for class but I didn’t get through it for the lecture that we had yesterday, but I’ll finish it when time is given.
The books that I have read (for class) are:
The Little Prince – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Pinocchio – Carlo Callodi
The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit is the one that I haven’t finished yet but will do so. I might do reviews on these. Perhaps not a video for each book – I might do a collective one when I have some time over.
The Guilty Read was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif by Rick Riordan and it was amazing. There will be a review on that shortly.
For my Creative Writing course I am only reading short stories and poems right now, but also from our course book and I have assignments due every sunday. It gets pretty hectic inbetween both the classes and I was not expecting the hecticness that has been – and I doubt that it’ll get easier soon.
I have to get on now, just wanted to tell you not to worry too much asbout me. Follow me on twitter if you ever do get to anxious that I have fallen off the Earth – it might reassure you 🙂
I have one video lecture to watch and a chapter to get through before starting this weeks assignments and then carrying on to completing the first BIG assignment for my CW class. (it’s due wednesday and I am scared!)
xx
