I did it again…

Hello Readers,

So I just realized that I promised you to not fall of the grid again about a month ago… And that’s exactly what I did.

Falling off the grid seems to be a specialty of mine. And I just do it without actually realizing that, that’s exactly what I’m doing. And then when I remember it seems to be too late for me to not make a post where I apologize.

I’m currently sitting at the train station in the next town over from where I live. It’s Sunday and I muddled up the train schedule. So I’m getting some extra sun and a nice breeze on this lovely day in Sweden.

I’ll make a longer update post when I’m not on my phone since the keyboard isn’t being very responsive atm…

Challenge Fail

Hello readers,

I am writing this on my iPhone so I beg of you to look past the mistakes (if there are any)

This morning I posted my video about how I fail at book buying bans and now I’m writing about that challenge that I failed miserably at. I had 30 books that I told myself I would have time to read in a year and I think I actually read 7 of those! I am not too proud of this and to be honest my life kinda got in the way of this one. I started a few courses that involved quite a lot of reading and therefore I put those readings ahead of my private ones. I also got a job that is still consuming all of my free time and it sucks that the only place I read nowadays is on the train using my ereader.
In short, I have book guilt. I feel guilty towards I’ll of those awesome books that I’ve bought and then just stacked in my bookcase. It feels like I’m neglecting my babies! Especially since this is something I really like. Blogging and filming videos about books is something I want to do and excusing it with my life just feels wrong.
However, I don’t have a better excuse for failing at this challenge apart from life and all it’s interruptions.

Apart from all of this a few things happened to people in my immediate family and close family. It has not been an easy year and it’s tough thinking that a year ago I was blissfully unaware of all of these problems that now have appeared. I was a different person a year ago. And life is to blame or thank for these changes.

If you made it this far, thank you for sticking by me even though its been a lousy year and I’ve not been the best at doing posts and videos!

Updated Book Case Tour

Hello readers,

Do you remember back when I started this channel and blog that I said that I was going to challenge myself to read the 30 books that were in my book case that I hadn’t read? And that I sent myself on a book buying ban?

Yeah, I suck at challenges and book buying bans aswell! A year has passed and I haven’t read close t half of the books so I’m a fail on that part and now I’ve posted a video telling you about the books I’ve bought since I went on my book buying ban. Technically I’m STILL on the book buying ban and I can’t keep my hands to myselg when I walk into a bookstore! I officially suck and I am in no need of a reminder! 😉

Anyway, I posted a new video which should tickle your fancy! I also want to send out a thank you to Theta and Mendy for caring about me enough to yell at me to go to bed on twitter! 😉

Hope you enjoyed this one, see you in a few days!

Bedside Book

Dear reader,

I am starting a new segment on this blog. Since I got my ereader I find myself neglecting my actual books. Most of which I haven’t read and are on my to be read list. To try and prevent my complete overhaul into ebooks I’ve decided to start something called bedside book. While I’m in bed, every now and then, I will read before falling asleep. Yes, this might not happen depending on when I get into bed and when I need to get up the following day. Although I do try to read something. Since my ereader always is in my bag I always have something to read and this has made my stats on how fast I read a book increase drastically since I now read wherever I go. However, I want to get into the swing of still reading my actual physical books when I’m at home.

So, I am forbidding myself to read on my ereader when I am in bed. My bedside book will be an actual book that I will read in the evenings before I fall asleep. I have already decided that the first book out in this series will be An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, and I shall try and commence the reading tonight.

On my ride into work this morning I started reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and I really like it so far. Other books that I am currently reading is the third Fifty Shades book, the fourth Maximum Ride book and the second Percy Jackson book. Speaking of these I have a question – would you be interested in me talking about my thoughts on the Fifty Shades series? I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to go down that road but now that I’ve read 2/3 books I’ve been given a ot to think about and several opinions on these thoughts. Let me know in the comments below or hit me up on twitter if this sounds interesting or not. During the week I will try and film, edit and upload most of the book reviews that ‘ve promised you over the past months.

Planned Book Reviews
Pinocchio
The Little Prince
The Gravyard Book
The Lightning Thief
Maximum Ride 1, 2 & 3
And a few more 😉

Updates

Dear Reader,

I know that I said that I would get better at posting videos and blog posts and such. I also said that I had a bunch to talk about and that I had several books to review for you. However, that past few days I’ve sat down in front of the camera and stared at it endlessly. I guess all the things that I wanted to say back when I actually read the books have just blown away.

I remember that I wanted to tell you that we all should be happy that Disney took hold of Pinocchio and made it what it is today. However, I can’t seem to fathom all the details.
I remember that I didn’t quite understand or like The Little Prince, and I had a problem with anybody who said that that was their favourite book. We had a discussion in class and I kinda got around my issues.
Remember I was reading The Hobbit? Yeah, I said that I would finish it before I watched the movie? Yeah – that didn’t quite happen. I’m wa past mid-way point but I just can’t seem to finish it.

I guess the only good reason I have for this is that I have found a book series that is devouring all my free time. Maximum Ride.
I may or may not have a crush on Fang.
But it is lousy timing!!! The Beautiful Creatures movie is released on Valentine’s day and I really need to have read the book before I see that one. Oy vey, where is my life heading?

It is currently controlled by marking homework, planning lessons and reading books. While all of these are controlled by movie premiere dates… Think I need a grip?

Yup. I am writing this on the train home from work. I just don’t have time any other time of the day, but hopefully I’ll manage to get my life planned and back on track in a few days.  I really need to sort this out.

Autumn Update

Yes… I’ve been on silent mode for about three months. I have been busy.

I went back to school, like I stated in my last post, and I ended up drowning in homework and assignments and reading. I will try to get around to filming reviews for all the different books that I read for class so that I can catch up a little. I read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman after the previous post and it was very good. I will get around to doing a review on that one as well.

I have also, shamefully, read Fifty Shades of Grey. Now, I want to do a review on this because I have already done a review on a romantic book, but Accidentally Demonic was NOTHING like this one! And I don’t want to upset anyone by posting a review. I am trying to figure out how to get around this and I’ll keep you posted.

I also had my birthday, and I got an EREADER!!! I am inlove, it is my new best friend and I will introduce you to it in a video shortly!

And I’ve bought new books… I’m a bad person.

September Update

Hello readers!

I hope your summer has been amazing, and I hope that my videos have been showing up in the previous blog posts – I really don’t know what is happening with that – something about monkeys…

So, you might think that I’ve fallen off the face of the Earth – but I’m not that easily disposed of! No, starting September 1st I went back to school. Yes, I graduated in January and swore to never return to that hell hole that had ruined everything and still I did.
Basically i decided to stop fighting the system and just get those extra points in English so that I can teach English at school. So I am currently taking a Children’s Literature class parrallel to taking a Creative Writing class and it is killing me. In my naive mindset I thought that it would be easy because one course was full time and the other one was half time, so the slower one wouldn’t kick off until the faster one was over. However, I was wrong.
I have considered quitting one of them but I cannot decide on one. I love both of the courses and I get to read as much as my heart desires.

So, in the Children’s Literature class we were assigned a few books that we should read for certain lectures so we can discuss these. So I am reading from my mum’s Samsung Tab because they were easier to download and get hold of than physical books. I’m missing a few, but I have the most important ones and  I might have to buy physical copies if I cannot find them anywhere else.
This means that in the past two weeks I have read 3 books. 2 were for class and 1 was a guilty read that pretty much had me on the edge of my seat. I have started a third one for class but I didn’t get through it for the lecture that we had yesterday, but I’ll finish it when time is given.
The books that I have read (for class) are:
The Little Prince РAntoine de Saint-Exup̩ry
Pinocchio – Carlo Callodi
The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien
The Hobbit is the one that I haven’t finished yet but will do so. I might do reviews on these. Perhaps not a video for each book – I might do a collective one when I have some time over.

The Guilty Read was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif by Rick Riordan and it was amazing. There will be a review on that shortly.

For my Creative Writing course I am only reading short stories and poems right now, but also from our course book and I have assignments due every sunday. It gets pretty hectic inbetween both the classes and I was not expecting the hecticness that has been – and I doubt that it’ll get easier soon.

I have to get on now, just wanted to tell you not to worry too much asbout me. Follow me on twitter if you ever do get to anxious that I have fallen off the Earth – it might reassure you 🙂
I have one video lecture to watch and a chapter to get through before starting this weeks assignments and then carrying on to completing the first BIG assignment for my CW class. (it’s due wednesday and I am scared!)

New blog platform?

Yes, third times a charm right?

I hated having one blog on tumblr and one on blogspot. It was really difficult to blog and keep track of things. So I did what one must do in such cases. I switched completely. I was actually considering wordpress when I made my first change but I thought it cost money and was only for MAC users.

What changed my mind? Guest blogging for Mendy over at Hot, Cute, Girly Geek! She uses this platform and I’ve kinda fallen inlove.

So, this is where I will be found from now until forever – because I can officially blog from one account to both of my blogs!

This is what I liked about blogspot to start with, but the video sharing was impossible to ignore!

I have two reviews planned for you guys and we’ll see if I do them in video form or change it up and do it in text form right here on the blog!
